The senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Ighoyota #Amori, has taken an #early lead in the #Delta #State Central Senatorial District #election conducted on Saturday April 25, 2015.
Amori polled a massive 9194 votes, with his closest challenger, Ovie #Omo-Agege of Labour Party coming a distant second with 3956 votes, #Agoda of the All Progressives Congress sits in third with 303 votes.
Result from this local government is so surprising considering the fact that it was considered a stronghold of the #PDP.
Another result from a Ward in #Ethiope East local government area also put Amori ahead of his challengers. In Ward 6 #Kokori, PDP received 1156 votes, Labour Party polled 628 votes, with #APC coming a distant third with 124 votes.
Two Units, 10 and 19, in the above Ward were cancelled because the total voters exceeded the total number of accredited voters.
The PDP allegedly offered voters N1000 and made efforts to buy over some polling agents of other parties. Some party agents compromised by collecting N30, 000 from PDP.
In #Okpe local government area, the PDP is also leading by a massive margin.
