For the sake of the deepening of the democracy being practised in Nigeria, most people had expected that the Peoples Democratic Party in #Lagos #state would give the All Progressives Congress a run for their money at the #tribunal.
According to LEADERSHIP, the Lagos governorship election tribunal on Wednesday struck out Jimi Agbajes petition against Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
According to the report, the tribunal struck out #Agbaje‘s petition for incompetence.
It would be recalled that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode was declared winner of the April 11, 2015 poll in Lagos State by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Ambode polled 811,994 votes ahead of his strongest contender, Agbaje, who polled 659,788 votes to emerge the first runner-up.
But Agbaje and the PDP had approached the tribunal claiming that the April 11, 2015 governorship poll in Lagos State was conducted in breach of the INEC’s specified guidelines, adding that the said election was fraught with irregularities.
