The #President of the senate, #Senator David Mark, on Tuesday May 12, 2015 commiserated with the family of the Nigeria first President, Late Chief #Nnamdi Azikwe over the demise of his son, Chief #Chukwuma Azikwe saying he (Chukwuma) was a distinguished diplomat.
Senator Mark made this remark in a condolence message to the larger family of Late Nnamdi Azikwe, government and people of #Anambra State.
According to a press statement signed by Paul Mumeh, Mark described the late Chukwuma as a man who lived exemplary life by sustaining the legacies of his late father through selfless services.
Mark added his demise has left a huge vacuum pointing out that the deceased died at a time when the nation needed his services to address some national issues.
Senator Mark recalled the philanthropic gesture of late Chukwuma which endeared him to his immediate community and beyond saying his services earned him the title of “#Owelle of Onitsha” conferred by the Obi of Onitsha, HRM, #Igwe Alfred Achebe.
“He (Chukwuma) was known for his hard work, selflessness and dedication to duty. This, he brought to bear during his sojourn as an Ambassador before he returned to private life”, Mark noted.
The Senate President however urged the immediate family of the deceased to take heart, saying, “this is a trying time in the history of the family but quick to pray for God’s divine protection and also to grant the late Chukwuma an eternal rest.
Senator Mark called on the government of Anambra #State to give the #late Chukwuma Azikwe a befitting burial just as he urged the people to take solace in God, “as death is inevitable, that must come when it shall.
